With the growing demand for services for individuals with special needs in Iraq, our new building is ready to accommodate the increasing number of children. We are also ready to provide suitable facilities to implement the best comprehensive services and rehabilitation programs at par with the international standards for individuals with special needs.
The classroom has the main focus of the school day. It is where the children begin their day and receive their daily schedule, as well as their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Most classes have two to four teachers. The distribution criteria may vary depending on each student’s specific requirements.
A specialized assessment and intervention clinic targeting children from 2 to 18 years, as part of the integrated services provided by the center.
The clinic team consists of consultants whose specialties vary in general medicine, clinical psychology, educational psychology, sociology, rehabilitation, special education, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and clinical special education. All of this is provided to ensure a comprehensive and accurate assessment for each case.
Speech Therapy Rooms at the Daro is furnished with number of tools and technologies to engage our students in conversation and encourage expression and communication.
We invite students individually or in groups into our movement therapy rooms to increase their mobility, improve their balance and develop their coordination skills.
Here, lights, colors, sound, sensory soft play equipment and aromas help students develop and engage their senses in a safe and unique environment to explore and interact safely. It is also used for calming strategies. The Sensory room has soft flooring and wall padding along with LED Sensory equipment like bubble tubes, interactive ball pool, fiber optic curtains, etc.
Daro curricula are all developed following the evidence based interventions for autism, incorporating a structured training method of district trial training format. This approach is combined with play-based and naturalistic interventions to enhance motivation and collaboration among children. The robot activities specifically incorporate evidence based practices as defined by The National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder, including Social Narrative, Prompting, Reinforcement, Video Modeling, Visual Support and many more.
In our kitchen serves a variety of freshly made hot meals for your children along with salads, fruit, sandwiches, fresh smoothies and fruit juices.
We have two outdoor playgrounds within the Center. Both are thoughtfully laid out to encourage students to be active and enjoy their time.
